Who do you see running in the Presidential election in 2012? Do you think Sarah Palin will run?

These are the main candidates I think will emerge:

Democrats:
Obama
Hillary Clinton

GOP:
Newt Gingrich
Mitt Romney
Mike Huckabee
Bobby Jindal
Sarah Palin

Independents:

Lucre - I'm happy to see that you think Huckabee will try again. I think he has a lot to offer. Also, I live in Louisiana where Bobby Jindal is governor and I'm pretty happy with him here.

I think Sarah Palin is a nutcase and belongs in a rubber room. Newt would make a very worthy opponent. I'm not opposed to Romney, but I'm afraid that the Mormon factor is going to scare a lot of people away from him.

The one that's missing on your list who I was really pulling for last time is Giuliani. I would love to see him come back with the gloves off.

I am not aware of Bobby Jindal.

Can Hillary Clinton still run for President in the position that she is in? How does she campaign and still do her job?

I don't see Hillary crossing party lines...unless she does it as an INDEPENDENT, now THAT would be interesting.

Jrsygrl: I think Giuliani would be a wonderful President, but I am not sure if he wants the job anymore. Actually, I was hoping he would run for Governor of New York because he would likely defeat Cuomo. I do think it would be a better race if he were part of the GOP primary for President. And I do think he would get a lot of support if he makes it through the primary.

I think you're right, lucre. I haven't heard boo about him running for President so I'm sure he's going to stay out of it this time (especially if Newt gets in the mix).

If he made it through the primary I think his biggest hurdle would be the whole affair/remarriage nonsense, but he handled that well when he was in office in New York and I think he could divert the country's attention away from his personal life.

Why didn't he run for for Governor? Surely, he would have that locked in.

Imadem - Bobby Jindal is Governor of Louisiana and they (the Powers That Be) started talking about him for President practically the day after he was elected Governor. I wouldn't say he's on the short list, but his name has been popping up for a couple years now. We shall see.

Regarding the question about Hillary. Yes, I think she is a very viable possibility in 2012 and certainly 2016. She wouldn't switch parties, she would run in the primary against Obama if she felt she could win. I believe Ted Kennedy did it in 1980 against Jimmy Carter. However, I think Hillary is far more politically astute than Ted.
