Ahhh, I remember the good ol' days (like 3 years ago), when 5 billion wasn't just a drop in the bucket.

Right on Uncle Sam. We taxpayers would enjoy those savings!

It sure would be great for members of Congress to feel the pain that the average American is feeling. Then again, come November, some of those idiots in Washington, D.C. may end up with pink slips and join the ranks of unemployed Americans.

I'm quite sure many will leave Congress this year and will exit with a great retirement package. Do they receive half their salary? and all health care benefits? Why not get SS at retirement age like the rest of us?

One drop is one more than we currently have and I see no issues with it, but I do have a feeling she is going to get some flak for suggesting it in the first place (not counting the fact that she is a lady and all).

When you talk with Congressional staffers, many will tell you that their Congressman is waiting until they are able to get full congressional retirement benefits before running for higher office or retiring. These politicians shouldn't look at this as a career!
