Time to put my money where my mouth is!

It’s very easy to take pot shots at, or criticize others who are trying to find a political solution to the corruption in Washington and regardless of the rhetoric others may use, we Americans are not being deprived of any Constitutional rights or freedom by what is happening in Washington today. We are, however, having our property stolen and our vote nullified by the special interests now controlling our government. There is almost a RICO type relationship between Congress, the President, Wall Street campaign contributors and, sorry to say, the media. Think about it, where do candidates spend most of their Wall Street and special interest campaign funds – TV ads?

You can’t attack or break this cabal by any type of frontal attack; they are way too strong and organized. For a new political party, or movement, this would be as suicidal as Pickett’s charge at Gettysburg, and most of know what happened there.

So, I’ll put my money where my mouth is and propose a simple flank attack which just might catch these political scumbags in a trap; but first so you know where I’m coming from, I want to repeat part of something I wrote earlier on iPolitics:

“To any one of the many Americans who has lost his family, his home, his career or job, his car, boat or RV, his investment income, his retirement, his dignity, his self-respect and any hope for his future; any new political party, political movement, candidate, or special interest group quoting, citing or offering to return to the ideals, goals and values of our Founding Fathers and waving the Constitution as its standard – is totally and completely irrelevant to them.

Most Americans KNOW what our country was founded on, and most Americans know that the body of laws that protect them and their freedom is based on our Constitution.

What they want to know from our politicians and elected officials is how they are going to restore economic stability and a future for our children that is not already mortgaged to the hilt. In other words, they want answers, they want solutions to SPECIFIC problems and they don’t want platforms, pledges, esoteric and unreachable goals and some individual’s idea of how to overturn the corruption in Washington by invoking Thomas Jefferson, James Madison, John Adams or any other 18th century political icon – those times and those men have past.”

My idea, proposal, or if you wish, just a brain f***!

In order to separate our elected members of Congress, (“them”) from the special interests on Wall Street, you have to put them in an indefensible position; namely forcing them to make a choice on a real issue between the special interests or average Americans. This tactic is one of the methods the American Federalist Party has chosen as part of its “Give us our property back” attack.

The issue is: In this day of electronic records, why do Americans need the combined results of three credit bureaus to establish their credit ratings?

What we do is email, call or write our Member of Congress and U.S. Senator and ask this specific question: “Why do Americans need the combined results of three credit bureaus to establish their credit rating”. Notice the question does not ask for their “position” on this subject; we ask “why”.

Americans are being screwed over by creditors who use the convoluted FICO score, which seems to be some type of average of their credit score provided by three for profit credit bureaus. This average discounts an American’s high credit score by the low score, thereby not giving one the best score possible. Keep in mind these credit bureaus NEVER have accurate data.

The follow-up question, in due time, is based on the premise that if today our medical records, income tax records and others are maintained in one place; why do we need three data bases for our credit histories? Answer is; we don’t.

This “tri-merged” credit score which guarantees a score lower than is warranted is used by banks for higher mortgage interest rates, by creditors as the basis for higher interest charges, by insurance companies as the basis for higher premiums, and as the basis for hiring. Just think about it, something that is inherently incorrect and quite possibly fraudulent, and that you have no control over, can ruin your life.

One final thought, the revenue stream for these for-profit credit reporting agencies is the creditors themselves. Talk about a conflict of interest!

The solution is a law mandating that individual credit histories be maintained by only one credit reporting bureau – and that Americans have the right to choose which one. The law should establish at least a contractual relationship between the individual and the credit reporting agency so that if that agency fails to maintain an accurate credit history, they can be sued or fired.

That is so simple a tactic to separate Congress from Wall Street money, that just by the answer to the aforementioned question you’ll immediately know whether or not your rep is bought and paid for, or whether or not he/she represents you – the average American.
