And who said 13 wasn't a lucky number?

10 are Republicans.

2 are Democrats.

Only 1 is Independent.

Hmmm...we're just sayin'.

That's all! Don't tell me Virginians saw past the $$$ and elected commoners. What's this Republic comimg to!

Reading the article it looks like most of these folks made their money the old fashion way. They were professionals, entrepreneurs etc, not financial Wall Street predators or "creative financial product" salesmen.

The Virginia legislature looks pretty typical, including the usual "conflicts of interest". I like Virginia. Lot of history there from Jamestown to Appomattox, from Mount Vernon to Monticello and lots more in between. Wife and I are looking forward to a return trip as soon as we can. ----- Unless travel guide Obama says it's a waste of money!

Good to know Tpaine. I'd sure like to see more independents on that list...

It looks like the New Aristocracy. And with the Tea Party going, I am almost expecting to see redcoats running around.

Will Tea Party be launching it's own candidates nationwide?

That would split the Republican vote I assume. I wonder how many Republicans are in Tea Party vs those who describe themselves as independent?

I'd be curious to find out if this extend to most other states. I know in Washington state, most of the elected officials come from within government.
